NOTICE FOR FIRST FINANCIAL BANK CONSUMER ACCOUNT HOLDERS:

VISA has made a change regarding cardholder liability for unauthorized transactions.  Effective September 1, 2017, the “Zero Liability Card Protection” provision of the First Financial Bank Account Agreement and Disclosure booklet has been revised and could impact your personal liability for any unauthorized transactions made from your debit card, making you liable in situations where you, as the cardholder, were not liable under the previous rule. The term “grossly negligent” is being replaced with “negligent,” which represents a higher standard of care on your part. In the event that you experience an unauthorized transaction from your account, please notify First Financial Bank immediately, so we can begin to investigate the issue.  This will help prevent or reduce any liability on your part, but unless you have been negligent or have engaged in fraud, you will not be liable for any unauthorized transaction using your lost or stolen Visa debit card.  Please be aware that under this new standard of care, you can be deemed as negligent if you do not notify us of unauthorized activity within 60 calendar days after receiving the account statement reflecting the unauthorized activity. Replacement funds for any possible unauthorized transactions are provided on a provisional basis and may be withheld, delayed, limited or rescinded based upon First Financial Bank’s investigation into the transaction(s) in question. All other terms of the Account Agreement and Disclosure remain in effect, including consumer only rights under the Electronic Fund Transfers Act and Regulation E, as applicable.
